Cupid (2020)

Directed by Scott Chambers (The Bad Nun)

Featuring: Georgina Jane, Michael Owusu, Abi Casson Thompson

Join us at SpareMe Bowl for a Valentine's edition of their monthly pinball tournament then make a date out of it at the Grindhouse.

It'll be a very bloody Valentine's Day this year...

"Valentine’s Day is either a sweet or depressing holiday depending on a person’s relationship status. Most films and TV shows are centered around the happy or coupled, but Cupid offers an alternative to this lovey narrative. It is a brilliant way for the single or anti-love viewers to still be included in this very exclusive holiday." - Sarah Salvaggio, Cryptic Rock

"As with other 'bullied teenager reaches out to the supernatural for revenge' films like Carrie, Fulci's Aenigma and Evilspeak, there is an awful lot of persecution and schoolyard drama to contend with before the horror elements fully kick in, but likeable performances by Georgina Jane, Michael Owusu, plus Sarah T. Cohen as detestable, yet entertaining mean bitch Elise make it compelling enough for you to stick with." - Gavin Whitaker, gavcrimson.blogspot.com

"It doesn't take itself too seriously: Sure, the film is as bloody as you'd expect from a movie of its ilk, but it's also totally aware that its central creature is pretty ridiculous, and the romance-themed killings are darkly humourous rather than gruesome." - Michael Haberfelner, [Re]Search My Trash

After being horrendously embarrassed by the mean girls at school, Faye, a practicing witch, summons the evil Cupid to take revenge on all those within the school grounds. However, all turns very real on Valentine's when Cupid does in fact rise, and he will stop at nothing until the walls are covered in blood. The students must figure out a way to stop Cupid and undo the spell before their hearts get broken... very literally.

Plus a Something Weird short film.
