"Fresh, funny, inventive and unique."—Rafer Guzman, Newsday

"A film adaptation that loves its source material's medium as much as it loves its stories."—Justin Harrison, The Spool

"A giddy, hyperkinetic, over-stylized barrage of video game, comic book and pop culture references."—Johnny Gayzmonic, Fanboys of the Universe

Lifting directly from the page, Edgar Wright's visually jam-packed screen adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel has become a cult classic in its own right. Twentysomething slacker Scott (Michael Cera) lives with his roommate (Kieran Culkin) in a basement apartment in Toronto where he plays in the marginally successful local garage band Sex Bob-Omb. One day the girl of his dreams (literally), Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), skates onto the scene to deliver him an Amazon package. Determined to win Ramona's affection, he will have to defeat her seven deadly exes in increasingly dangerous and complex fights complete with powerups, extra lives, and word bubbles.
