David Cornwell, known more widely under the pseudonym John le Carré, opens up to acclaimed documentarian Errol Morris (The Fog of War) in his final interview, drawing from a past as depicted in his memoir The Pigeon Tunnel: Stories From My Life. The prolific author of such celebrated spy thrillers as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Spy Who Came In From the Cold endeavors on a personal odyssey spanning six decades, from his upbringing as the son of a con man to his own career in British intelligence. In what is perhaps his most candid interview, Cornwell spins a complex narrative web not unlike those found in his novels, challenging the division between what is fact and fiction.
