Theorist, curator, and critic Paul B. Preciado reimagines Virginia Woolf’s classic novel in this bold, inventive celebration of trans experience. Where Woolf’s original text explores a single Orlando, Preciado collaborates with a multigenerational group of trans and non-binary performers, each shouldering the name of the titular character. Compounded from recitations of the novel, personal stories, and staged sequences, Preciado cultivates in this film a rich, kaleidoscopic lens through which we encounter transness in its myriad forms and look towards a future of liberation for all trans people.
