On the twentieth anniversary of James Dean’s death, the self-proclaimed Disciples of Jimmy Dean drift in and out of a Woolworth’s 5-and-dime just outside of Marfa, Texas, reuniting for the first time in as many years. Ensnared by the sweaty spell of midsummer heat, each woman’s carefully cultivated exterior is wicked away as they reckon with the ghosts of their collective past.
