Amélie is a painfully shy waitress (Audrey Tatou) working at a tiny Paris café, whose exceptionally whimsical imagination bolsters what would otherwise be an average, mostly solitary life. After she makes a surprising discovery and sees her life drastically changed for the better, with newfound verve and purpose Amélie dedicates herself to doing good deeds for an assortment of co-workers, neighbors and complete strangers, helping them find happiness in the most delightfully unexpected ways. But will she have the courage to do the same for herself after she meets (and falls for) mysterious street artist Nino (Mathieu Kassovitz)?
