Adapted by Iowa Writers Workshop alum David Kajganich from the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis, this unconventional tale of first love follows Maren (Taylor Russell), a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee (Timothée Chalamet), an intense and disenfranchised drifter. The two misfits take to the road for a liberating odyssey across the midwest where they are coming into their own, searching for identity and chasing beauty in a perilous world that cannot abide who they are — cannibals.
