"Boyega, in some of his finest work to date, takes your breath away."—Esther Zuckerman, Thrillist

"Boyega's tightly wound but heartfelt interpretation is what helps [Breaking] stand out, along with one of the last screen performances of Michael K. Williams's career."—David Sims, The Atlantic

When Marine Veteran Brian Brown-Easley (John Boyega) is denied support from Veteran’s Affairs, financially desperate and running out of options, he takes a bank and several of its employees hostage, setting the stage for a tense confrontation with the police, including an officer played by Michael K. Williams in one of his final roles. This tense thriller was based on a true story and serves as an indictment of a broken system in America.
