“Paul Morrissey’s comedy, gore, sex and horror classic is a disgustingly wonderful film to view again and again mostly because every ‘respectable’ film critic hates this movie.” - Ken Kish, Video Wasteland: Rental, Reference and Review Guide

“The most outrageous epic ever.” - Playboy

“Andy probably didn’t have to do anything more strenuous than sign a contract, but who cares. It’s a comedy-gore-sex-horror movie that delivers - and it’s in 3-D! Totally sick and disgustingly wonderful.” - Michael Weldon, The Psychotronic Encyclopedia of Film

"This is not a film in which humour is delivered in the wry, ironic manner of the commedia all'Italiana. Instead it takes its cues from Monty Python and it's packed full of grotesque performances, rubbery special effects and insane dialogue." - Matt Blake, Science Fiction Italian Style

Flesh for Frankenstein contains one of the most memorable (and frequently misquoted) lines in modern horror - ‘To know death, Otto, you have to fuck life in the gall bladder’ - ranted Udo Kier in a, shall we say, bravura performance.” - Anne Billson, Shock: The Essential Guide to Exploitation Cinema

"You can't make movies like these anymore." - 42nd Street Pete Chiarella, Grindhouse Purgatory

FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN 3-D (1973)

a.k.a. ANDY WARHOL’S FRANKENSTEIN

After the success of the internationally celebrated Andy Warhol trilogy, Flesh, Trash and Heat, director Paul Morrissey turned his attention to the dark and disturbing tales of Gothic literature’s best-loved characters, Frankenstein and Dracula.

In Flesh for Frankenstein 3-D, graphic sequences of bodily dismemberment and bloody violence combine with beautiful locations, sumptuous sets and an array of attractive leads to bring Morrissey’s gruesomely comic interpretations a unique and twisted sense of style and humour that is guaranteed to shock and delight in equal measure.
